What a learning curve.

Since the TVNZ interview which went wrong I've learned alot. So let's go over some of the things I've learned.

*I've learned the reporter did the best she could with the time given however at some point someone failed to realise the magnitude of the information I was giving them and didn't stop to say hang on this is bigger than a spot between the snow and the sports and is about more than a heatpump for one tenant.

*The media machine is an ugly thing. I've learned to not trust them because they will always look for an angle.

*I've learned every person I've encountered outside of my own circle (my circle includes those who have shared their stories with me so far and are the reason this website exists today) has kept a secret hidden agenda.

*I've learned people thought I was going to do a feel good story about a minor win for one KO tenant and then disappear into the sunset with the heatpump remote in my toasty little hand. Boy were they wrong. After what transpired its done nothing but fuel me in my quest to get accountability.

*I've learned that as long as you're doing the right thing, in the right way, for the right reason the goal will be achieved. It may take longer but it will happen.

*I've learned that the truth makes a far better story than any story/angle any media outlet wants to take.

*I've learned that as a group we don't need mainstream media to tell peoples stories. People are capable of telling their own stories in their own words. As long as you have proof to back you up, I'm going to provide the platform for you to speak your truth. What that looks like exactly hasn't been finalized but there are plans for the near future so watch this space.

This is your journey, this is your space to share. I'm just here to help you fight for your rights as a tenant and support you telling your story because I know so many others before me have stopped you doing that.

Now is your time to shine. Embrace it.

C.

As an agent for a KO tenant, my own mental health is something I rarely talk about. Truth be told, the last year has taken a toll on me...
